Welcome to Week 8, Managers!
We have lost our lone undefeated team in Team E. They met their match against Team N in a matchup between BAL vs CIN. The Ja'Marr Chase to Burrow connection was strong this week and unfortunately Team E fell victim to it this week. It was a truly inspirational run, winning 6 weeks straight and should be a warning to all managers who are matched up against Team E.
Standings Nearly every team that is above .500 is currently "in" the playoffs. We are nowhere near top-heavy and some late season runs could certainly turn some things around. We do have 5 teams who are 4-3, which I am personally proud of. This means that a league of parity has been created and that the difficulty of this play style is definitely there.
WEEK 8 This week looks to be a fun one. I hope you are all well versed in your AFC depth charts. 5 of our 8 matchups feature AFC only teams. The spotlight matchup this week is between two 4-3 teams, Team A and Team F. They are playing the BUF vs BAL game with a healthy Lamar Jackson. I have no idea how Team A plans the first pick as you have a combined 3 MVPs and a rushing crown in this pool. All eyes, or at least mine, will be on this matchup.
I am working on a number of minor changes that really don't affect you all. However, there will be one change that I will be making that may change the draft timing. My rumor mill keeps feeding me ideas. One of which is a set draft time for all games. We already have the 15 minute before kickoff time, but I would love to know your opinions on when you think a stock draft time should occur. Obviously, this would change depending on game day, but I want to know your thoughts. In my opinion the biggest issue is injuries. One of our greatest strengths with this style of play is a hedge against injuries. A stock time would most likely hurt that. Anyway, let me know. The one change that I am making, thanks to Team C, is that away teams will have the ability to propose new draft times. Team D, Team C thought your 3:15pm draft time was stupid. (New rivalry brewing, maybe??)
I am currently writing this 37 minutes through TNF where the draft bot somewhat fairly drafted both teams (presumably). Josh Jacobs continues to give me fits. I am sorry Team I for last week's RB isolation i put on you due to Josh Jacobs' lack of draftability. That is on me. But the draft bot also did not draft him this week. Guys, I am working on it. It is a beta and I blame my API. Which, in my opinion, has really stepped it up. Other than missing most injury designations, the live scoring is only a few minutes back than ESPN or Sleeper. I have been pleasantly surprised with this.
