Hello Managers!
Welcome to the official halfway point of the regular season!
IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY If the season ended today, Team E would be the number one seed, closely followed by Team B who is on a solid 3 game win streak. These two manager's would get a bye all the way to the conference championship! Team A and Team N would be 3 and 4, getting byes to the divisional round. Team H, Team J (4 week win streak, Holy cow look at you go), Team D, and Team F would round out the rest of the playoffs and would duke it out in the wild card!
The rest of us are on the outside looking in, but there is still plenty of room at the top. No one is exactly running away with it. Most teams are basically 1 or 2 games out of first place!
Here is a quick summary of how everyone got where they are currently:
TOP OF THE TABLE
Team E (6-2) - Team E has made 71 of his 72 picks himself. One autodraft pick all season and that was technically a glitch. He also owns the two closest wins in league history: 0.5 over Team M (the Lamar interception game) and 1.2 over Team L. Two losses in a row now, though, so maybe the magic is wearing off. Try harder, Dad.
Team B (6-2) - The bot made 42% of your picks, and its picks scored 9.8 points each to your 10.1. It has basically become you. Somehow you have the league's most game MVPs (7) and a losing all-play record (56-64), and you took the worst beating of the season, 90.2 points to Team A. And still 6-2. I do not understand it either.
Team A (5-3) - The points machine. 863.9 points, 108 a game, 10 more than the league average, and three of the season's five biggest blowouts. The only thing holding you back is two losses by under 5 points. Flip those and you are 7-1 and alone in first.
Team N (5-3) - The bot drafted 63% of your roster and you are 5-3, so I should probably just give it your login. You ended Team E's undefeated run and have won three games by under 10, including a 1.6 point squeaker over Team D. All while giving up the second most points in the league.
Team H (5-3) - Mr. Clutch. 3-0 in single-digit games (by 7.6, 4.2 and 1.0). Also, you have drafted Dalton Kincaid three times and the Buffalo defense three times. We see you, Bills Mafia.
Team J (5-3) - Winning ugly and loving it. Only 85.5 points a game and a 51-69 all-play record, yet here you sit at 5-3. My bot also handed you Drew Lock as your FIRST pick. Twice. I apologize for nothing, it worked.
THE BUBBLE
Team D (4-4) - The unluckiest .500 team in the league. Second in total points (818) and a 74-46 all-play record. 3-1 at home, 1-3 on the road. You did win the first chapter of the Team C rivalry in Week 7, so at least there's that.
Team F (4-4) - The bot has made 65% of your picks, including 6 of your 8 first picks. You also share the season's lowest score (46.8) with yours truly. Show up to a draft or two and let's see what happens.
Team G (4-4) - Also at 65% autodraft, BUT when you draft yourself your picks average 11.2 points versus the bot's 9.8. You are better than my bot. Please stop letting it draft for you. Bonus: you beat Team H by exactly 10.0, the closest any game has come to single digits without counting.
The Wizard (4-4) - Your commissioner. 72 of 72 picks made by hand, 0-4 at home and 4-0 on the road. Three losses by under 10 points (1.7, 9.2 and 3.9). Flip those and I am 7-1 and in first. I have allowed the fewest points in the league and I am still .500. I built this game and it hates me.
Team L (4-4) - The league's single best performance: Joe Burrow's 55.5 points carried you to the season high of 164 in Week 8. You have also never drafted the same player twice, 72 different players in 72 slots. And you're 4-4 with the worst
RISING FROM THE ASHES
Team I (3-5) - Another one of the unlucky managers this season, who is the only manager that has over 750 (786.7) points scored and is not in the playoffs. Buuuut, you also have the highest points against. Gotta work on your defense! You have had a pretty decent stretch recently winning 2 out of your last 3. Very curious to follow your path in coming weeks.
Team O (3-5) - 3 straight wins has propelled you into a more desirable position than where you were. This has also been followed by 2 name and profile picture changes (btw everyone else, this is something you can do). The team formerly known as Team O and Capt Bert and Crew, has a chance to really solidify themselves as not just a flash in the pan this week if they were to beat our number one team Team E.
BOTTOM FEEDERS (WITH LOVE)
Team K (2-6) - Three losses by under 10 points (4.2, 7.4 and 9.9). Flip them and you are 5-3. Your all-play record (58-62) says you deserve better than 2-6, and so do I.
Team M (2-6) - The most heartbroken man in Promethium. FIVE losses by under 10 points: 0.5, 3.2, 3.8, 6.5 and 7.4. Flip them and you are 7-1 and in FIRST PLACE. Between this and the Browns, I am so sorry, Team M.
Team C (2-6) - When you win, you win big: both of your wins were by 36+ points. Still looking for that first road win (0-4 away). Your own picks out-score the bot's (9.7 to 8.3), so keep drafting, and keep beefing with Team D over 3:15pm draft times. The league needs this.
THE BOT
Just over a third of every pick this season (421 of 1,152) was made by my draft bot. It is not good. It is not bad. It is a 4-4 team at heart.
Eight teams make the playoffs and nobody is out of it yet. Ten weeks to go. Good luck in Week 9 to everyone except Team C.
Halfway to glory and my love, The Wizard
